Thirty and Thriving

Updated: Dec 26, 2018

Here we go folks! This is is thirty. I have decided to make this the year of taking risks, creating the life I want, nourishing myself and sharing the wisdom I have gained thus far in my 30 years on earth (for whatever that wisdom is worth). My hope is that it will help someone else who is on the same journey.

Over the past several years since graduating college, I have immersed myself in the world of psychology and healthy living by pursuing a doctorate, becoming a licensed psychologist, adopting a plant-based lifestyle, and filling my mind with as much self-improvement literature as possible. Have I got it all figured out now? No. Anyone who says they do is probably lying. But I have found a lot of what I have learned to be helpful in my own journey of self-growth, as well as in my work with clients.

So why Your Life Nourishment? Well, I have been reflecting a lot over the past year on the word nourish. The dictionary defines nourish as "to provide the food or other substances necessary for growth, health, and good condition." As a psychologist, I'm in the business of helping people to create healthy lifestyles that nourish the body, as well as the mind and soul. I help people invest in nourishing habits and practices that lead to more meaningful living. To thrive emotionally, mentally, physically, and relationally.

What I hope this blog becomes is a resource for others who want to integrate more nourishing habits into their lives. This includes everything from lifestyle choices, creating sustainable healthy habits, self-care practices, finances, navigating relationships, mindfulness, and understanding the role of your thoughts and emotions. My hope is that through sharing what I have learned, and continue to learn as a growing human, you may find some things that help you feel like you are in the driver's seat of your own life.

I hope you join me on this journey of nourished living.
